PROFESSIONAL

since 1974

TRAINED

at Trinity College of Music, London, achieving Grade 8 Piano at the age of 13 and taking Licentiate Diploma at the age of only 15.

INSTRUMENTS

Equally at home on Piano, Keyboards and Synthesizers, with extensive experience as Musical Director.

EXPERIENCE

A vast experience of working in Theatre Musicals and for Cabaret, being in demand as a specialist reader, at times when no form of rehearsal is possible.

Similarly has been Audition Pianist for many Shows and Musicals.

29 Pantomimes and many Theatre Summer Seasons, Touring Productions and Cruising Production Shows are also to credit. The list of artistes involved in such fields is immense,

MORE SPECIFIC

Worked 3 years in the first U.K. National Touring Production of "EVITA" , acquiring the affectionate nickname "Buzz"; the first tour on keyboards alone, the other two full year tours as also Assistant Musical Director, conducting the performance twice a week.

Worked with Sir Harry Secombe in the touring production of "PICKWICK", followed by another two year National Tour of "EVITA" on First Keyboards.

Completed a run as Musical Director in the West End of the musical "A LOT OF LIVING" featuring the works of Charles Strouse, with Dave Willets and Bonnie Langford.

Also a large part of 2 years spent working as Musical Director to the orchestras for all the Production Shows aboard P. & O.`s cruise liners "CANBERRA", VICTORIA", "ARCADIA" and "ORIANA".

Pantomime in Cambridge through the winter saw in working with the American Director and Choreographers helping to put together three new Musicals for Butlins (Rank Organisation).

Panto at Theatre Royal, Norwich was again followed by cruising in the Med.,  and into Panto with Wayne Sleep. The next year's panto was with Cheryl Baker and Brian Cant, and time was spent on the "Saga Rose" as Musical Director for all production shows and cabaret. Following panto was again with Wayne Sleep and broke all panto Box Office records for the theatre venue.

Completed a run at Salisbury Playhouse of the very highly acclaimed musical "The Hired Man" by Melvyn Bragg and Howard Goodall, which subsequently won the TMA award for best musical.

An extremely successful Panto season as MD for "Sleeping Beauty" at Theatre Royal Norwich.

Extremely busy orchestrating musicals and writing and arranging for cruise ships, artistes, bands and orchestras, ongoing since 2004.

Brian has also recently been working with youngsters and young adult students within a respected UK Performing Arts College.

Whilst a lot of his time is now taken up writing musical and vocal harmony arrangements for large-scale corporate events, production shows, musicals and cabaret, he takes time out occasionally to guest as Musical Director in both professional productions and youth theatre Summer schools encouraging more youngsters to enter the business.
